This
year has been another meaningful year that SsangYong
Motor has recorded 50 years of its manufacturing history
since 1954.
Over 100 years of world automotive history, more than
4 thousands automakers were established and disappeared
with innumerable models. With this competitive environment,
I am very delighted to celebrate the 50th anniversary
of its birth on behalf of all our SsangYong Motor family.
With great pleasure to celebrate our anniversary, SsangYong
Motor made outstanding growth that recorded U$ 2.8billion
of business turnover and U$ 0.2billion of operating
profit at last year. This sound business performance
has been generated by warmer welcome from our customers
for our latest additions such as Rodius/Stavic, New
Rexton, New Chairman that it ambitiously prepared.
SsangYong Motor always does its best
to implement the highest quality in vehicles to satisfy
the expectations of its customers. As great success
of 2.7L common rail diesel engine that mounted on
our Rexton and Rodius/Stavic has been already proven,
now I can proudly say that everyone in SsangYong Motor
really works hard to provide customers buying vehicles
from SsangYong Motor with the best value available
today.
SsangYong Motor will
make continuous investment in developing new engines
& products and constructing infrastructures for
the expansion of sales and services. Great efforts will
be also made to sharpen the competitive edge in both
domestic and overseas markets.
SsangYong Motor, however,
does not focus its efforts only on manufacturing and
selling more vehicles. SsangYong Motor also wants to
produce the better vehicles through the improvement
of productivity on both management and manufacturing
levels.
